During this phase of staying at home, there’s a lot of time to reflect upon the past, the present, and the future. Previously, I thought of exciting new locales and experiences, or brand new adventures, or shiny gadgets as my idea of fresh joy. But now, the quarantine has me thinking a lot about redefining joy in my life. I need to and want to find joy in the ordinary, the every day, and the plain. Joy isn’t something derived externally, but it’s something we produce inwardly. Here’s my takeaway from trying to find joy in the ordinary and the every day.
